Happy Throwback Thursday!!

The first photo, courtesy of the Rogers Historical Museum is a postcard of First United Episcopal Church which was originally built in 1908 by A.O. Clarke. In 1940, a fire started in the furnace room of the church. In 1941 repairs to the building finished and cost $11,619.02. The name of the church changed to Central United Methodist Church in 1968 and the second photo shows what FUMC Rogers looks like today!

It's that time again!

This week we are featuring the old Post Office taken around 1950.
Constructed in 1917 from designs by architect James S. Wetmore. It was outgrown and vacated by postal services in the late 1940's. It later became the Rogers Public Library and is now part of the Rogers Historical Museum. It is also part of the National Historic Registry and as you can tell currently the building looks very much the same.
